Step 1: Inquire!
You must first complete an online Inquiry Form, which lets us know you would like to learn more about The Wight Foundation and are interested in applying. Complete an online Inquiry Form here.
Step 2: Email for Preliminary Application
If you are in the 7th grade the Recruitment Team will email you a link to the Preliminary Application. Here is an example email:
Please note, the email with the link is not automated, it may take the Recruitment Team a couple days to process your information and send you the email. We ask for your patience during that time. If several days go by and you have still not received an email with the link, please call our office at 973.824.1195 to ensure your email address was properly recorded.
If you are not yet in the 7th grade the Recruitment Team will send you a different email with information about your eligibility year.
Step 3: Create Your Account
Upon clicking on the link, you will be prompted to create an account with SchoolAdmin. You must create an account with SchoolAdmin in order to access the Preliminary Application. Please save your account email and password, you will need it to access your application.

If you are prompted for an authentication code, you can find it at the end of your link. Here a sample code is circled in red.
Step 4: Complete the Preliminary Application
Please make sure to fill this form out thoughtfully. Upload all required Preliminary Application Documents. Upon uploading, each item will then become complete.
After you have completed the Preliminary Application Form and uploaded the required checklist items, the Recruitment Team will review your application. All required checklist items must be submitted for your application to be reviewed. Immediately after your application has been reviewed, you will be notified via email about the status of your Final Application.
Step 5: Final Application
After you have completed the Preliminary Application Form and uploaded the required checklist items the Recruitment Team will review your application. Once your application has been reviewed, you will receive an email indicating whether you qualified for a Final Application.
If you are approved for a Final Application, the checklist item "Approved for a Final Application" will be checked off and new checklist items corresponding to the Final Application will appear.
Please note, all final applicants must take the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) and will, if eligible, receive an interview. Further details will be provided during the Final Application Process.
